From humble beginnings with two doctors, we’ve grown to a team of six doctors, still proudly rooted in the values of continuity, family care, and community service. Decades later, our mission remains the same — to care for every generation with kindness, expertise, and heart.
About Us
The Story of our Family Practice
Our story began in 1986, in the heart of the old Christians Building, where Dr Bohmer and Dr Hodkinson laid the foundation for what would become a trusted, family-orientated medical practice. With just two doctors, a shared vision, and a deep commitment to care, the practice quickly became part of the Hillcrest community.
In 1991, as our patient base grew, we took a significant step forward — building the Hillcrest Rooms and Medical Centre, a new home for our expanding family of healthcare professionals. Around the same time, we briefly extended our reach with a second set of rooms in Kloof — first on Village Road, then in the Kloof Medical Centre, serving the community there until about 1993.
A leading legacy
Over the years, many dedicated doctors have contributed to our legacy. Alongside our current team, we fondly remember the work of Drs Parkin, Laidlaw, Potgieter, Peter Breedt and others, whose compassion and skill helped shape the heart of our practice.

Our women’s health services include annual screenings for breast and cervical cancer, guidance on contraception and menopause, bone density referrals, and weight management; all in a supportive, confidential setting.

Long-term support for lifelong conditions. We provide holistic care for chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, asthma, reflux, and COPD. We also coordinate specialist referrals when needed and are accredited with major medical aids, including Discovery.
